First Impressions


The user experience was very outdated, too simplistic, and performed very poorly with Google pange ranking. It's clear the site could have a much higher customer acquisition rate and benefit from some more recent advances in web design and development.

    The design is very typical of an old dentist website. Standard menu items. Basic formatting. Lack of call to actions. Cluttered and often confusing layout.

This website attempts these goals, but makes a number of basic mistakes that hinders this goal.

    The website runs on Wordpress which is an excellent solution for this business. However, the server configurement and incorrectly setup cloud-based server puts this at one of the slowest sites we have come across.

The key features include obvious call-to-actions, an advanced booking system, highlighting featured services, adding customer testimonials and success stories, and including a price list that get's straight to the point.

Having recently looked for a dentist in Chatswood, I jumped online like everyone does. After a while I discoverd Sydney Smiles Dental after a bit of a Google search. My first impressions were pretty typical of other competitor websites that I found.

My goal for this challenge was to design a fresh and engaging website. More importantly I wanted to implement a booking system, powerful customer onboarding tools, and provide a clear marketing plan for the business to leverage off.
